Purpose: In light of the University not recognizing Juneteenth and our recent Black Lives Matter Legislation, the Senate wanted to make it known that we celebrate and recognize Juneteenth as a holiday.
Support: We just passed legislation saying that Black Lives Matter and this is another first step in recognizing the injustice.
Opposition: There was no opposition this resolution
